About the DSTA

We are proud to have completed our 76th year as an organization, and would like to extend a warm invitation to one and all to join us!  The DSTA is comprised of over 100 active members as well as a number of active retired members, with backgrounds as diverse as the industries they represent.  You’ll find members from the aerospace, rail, trucking, logistics, and maritime industries, in addition to manufacturers, commercial shippers, supply chain managers, government agencies and more that work together to keep our region on the move!

We typically meet the third Wednesday evening of each month, with meetings featuring speakers who share their knowledge regarding transportation-related topics, tours of facilities that are of interest to members, educational seminars, and more laid back activities such as bowling and pizza.  Our members often have the opportunity to take tours of projects under construction that are not open to the public.  All of the meeting venues offer our members a chance to network and in turn, gain valuable insight and garner ideas from one another.

The DSTA has also partnered on a couple of great community events in an effort to help those that are less fortunate – the Fill-a-Truck, Feed-a-Family Food Drive in partnership with the Second Harvest Northern Lakes Food Bank, and the Christmas Toy Drive in partnership with the Salvation Army.  Our most popular events include our annual July golf outing, our August family fun night aboard the Coast Guard Cutter Sundew, and our January holiday celebration.

The DSTA Scholarship Committee is working diligently on the initial groundwork and details of offering an annual scholarship to a student/students in the Transportation & Logistics program at UWS.  We are in the process of reaching out to our members and local businesses in an effort to grow the scholarship fund.  We strongly believe that by investing in transportation-related education within our community, we will strengthen our organization and in turn, help solidify our future.

In closing, please contact a board member if you would like to join us for a meeting as our guest.  For the latest information on our upcoming meetings and events, please view our meeting schedule on the Events page.

On behalf of the DSTA membership and board of directors, thank you for visiting our website and I’m looking forward to the possibility of meeting you in the future!

Best Regards,
Joe Schiff
2020-2021 President
