May 2022: President’s Note

Happy Spring DSTA Members!!!
I hope many of you were able to join us for our two
virtual lunch meetings in March. The first one was
brought to us by Daniel Rust and included information
on the Duluth Cargo Connect, a partnership of the Duluth
Seaway Port Authority and Lake Superior Warehousing.
The second zoom lunch meeting was brought to us by
Carole Clark Isakson discussing the HOT topic of Driver
Misclassification Issues. Both meetings were very
informative and interesting!! Thanks again Carole and
Daniel.

Next we have two big events happening in June.
The first one is the DSTA FOOD DRIVE-FILL A TRUCK
happening June 8-11Th. Richie Rochel has been doing a
great job working with Super One and the Food Bank to
get this HUGE event rolling again!! We will be at 3 Super
One locations: Cloquet, Miller Hill-Duluth, and Harbor
View-Superior. We really need everyone help in making
this great event happen. The Sign Up Genius link is in the
Flyer. Please sign up and volunteer as early and often as
you can!

A couple of weeks after the Food Drive we have our next
event: The DSTA Annual Golf Outing. This year’s date is
June 20th and will be held again at Northland. Our golf
committee has been hard at work ironing out the details
and taking care of any issues that we have had in the past
(running out of beer)! Stay tuned for the sign up sheet for
that event to follow soon.

After the Summer season, we will be returning
to in-person meetings!!! Save the date, our first
scheduled speaker is Matt Marrin from the
FMCSA on September 14th. Remember to
encourage members to attend these events.
Much more to follow!!

Thanks everyone and see you at the Food
Drive!!!!!!!
