Sept 2022: President’s Note

I hope everyone is enjoying their summer! I can’t believe it is already August. It seems like we were just planning the Food Drive and Golf Outing. Speaking of these two great events let me just recap them for you.

First, we had the DSTA Fill-A-Truck, Feed a Family Food Drive. I have to start by saying what a great job Richie Rochel did in his very first year leading this event for the DSTA. It is quite the undertaking. Not only getting volunteers but getting things set up with Super One Foods. Thanks to everyone who volunteered and again to Super One Foods for hosting us!! Now for the totals: (drum roll) we raised $12,453 and 7,270 pounds of
collected food!! Both were records for us! What an accomplishment. We should all be proud!

Then a week later we had our annual golf outing at Northland Country Club. It was a hot one, but we had a tremendous turnout with 121 golfers participating. Fun was had by all. Our golf committee is already looking at
ways to improve this day next year. Any suggestions are welcome.

Now for new business, our first in-person meeting of the year is scheduled for Wednesday, September 14th. Matt Marin from the FMCSA will be our speaker. I really would love to see everyone there.

Scott Franzen, DSTA President
