Tour Guides Pete and Natalie

On May 16, 2018, the DSTA event was a walking tour of the Duluth Cargo Connect facility. We were met by Pete Kramer the General Manager of the facility. The Duluth Cargo Connect began a working partnership last year with Canadian National’s (CN) Intermodal operation. Opening CNs newest intermodal here in Duluth instantly connects our region to containerized imports via CNs vast rail network in the US and Canada. CN’s intermodal service furthers the port terminal’s 25-year record of success with stevedoring, cargo handling and warehousing operations.
Scholarship Winner – Mark Shold
Our tour was capped off by awarding our first DSTA scholarship to Mark Shold. Mark is Transportation and Logistics major at the University of Wisconsin Superior. We wish Mark the best as he finishes his Junior and Senior year at UW Superior.
The tour was cut short by a cold front. The wind changed and dropped the temperature some 40 degrees. The group concluded the tour at Grandma’s Saloon with food and drink.
