On January 5th, 2018 the DSTA started the year off with a fun social gathering at the Black Bear Casino. 78 people gathered to enjoy some libations, great food, and connect with others in the transportation industry. Thanks go to Leyla Aktekin for setting up and organizing the event. Thanks go to Dawn Evans and Amy Holt for shopping for prizes, organizing the giveaways, and taking care of registrations. 2017 was closed out with a speech from the outgoing President Leyla Aktekin; while 2018 was opened with a speech from the incoming President, yours truly. Special recognition was given to Kristin McKibbage for all her work on reservations amongst a multitude of other things. Thank you Kristin! This year we held a live auction to benefit the DSTA Scholarship Fund. Thank you to all the donors and buyers! Also, thank you to our great auctioneer Carl Svendsen! $2,020 was raised from this auction and sent directly to the Scholarship Fund! We ended the evening by giving away door prizes (donated from attendees and their organizations) and a few large prizes from the DSTA. Congratulations to the win-ners! Thank you to all who could make it to the event. To those who couldn’t make it, we hope to see you at some of the upcoming events.
